Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveler known as "the Doctor" who travels in his space and time-ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, solving problems, facing monsters and righting wrongs. And now there's a wiki.

For the past several weeks there's been mounting excitement about Comic-Con International, 2009 and the Doctor Who panel featuring Russell T Davies, Julie Gardner, David Tennant and director Euros Lyn. At 10:00 on Sunday 26th July the waiting was over as 4000 members of the public applauded and went crazy for the four Brits abroad who were there to give the inside scoop on Doctor Who.

The panel was hosted by Robert Lloyd of the LA Times and organised by BBC America, now the home of Doctor Who in the US. A sense of celebration was established immediately as David Tennant's entrance triggered a rare standing ovation and many within the audience were overtly vocal about their love for the show and members of the panel!

David Tennant was on great form and confirmed he will be appearing in The Sarah Jane Adventures in a story called The Wedding of Sarah Jane. He also noted that outside the world of Doctor Who he'll star in the new movie, St. Trinian's: The Legend of Fritton's Gold. Incidentally, the film also features Talulah Riley (Miss Evangelista in Silence in the Library) and Fenella Woolgar (Agatha Christie in The Unicorn and the Wasp).

David was enormously positive about Matt Smith who will take over as the Doctor and reflected that everyone who has worked with him in Britain has nothing but praise for his abilities. He revealed that although they've chatted, he did not offer him advice about playing the Time Lord.
